the rundown
Wow. It's Thursday already! This week is flying by. Shirley and I had a great time visiting the family in Blacksburg, SC. I have pictures, but they're on the other camera at home. Saturday night, my aunt Kay cooked a wonderful supper for us, and then she and my aunt Lois taught us some line dances that they've been learning. We also learned to do the Cupid Shuffle (without my cousin Allison's help). I know...I can't believe I did it, either...
Speaking of Lois...she's gotten herself onto Facebook. I couldn't be prouder! We're still trying to convince her friend Bea to get on too. I mean, I told her that I would be her friend if she signed up. You'd think that alone would be reason enough!
In other news, Roxie just brought a giant Reese's cup in here. She said it fell out of the sky.
And people say that there's no God...

dreaming
Early this morning, I dreamed that I was being smothered. I couldn't breathe. Then, I realized that something was tickling my nose... It turns out that there was an Oozey sleeping on my face. And she even had the nerve to get sassy me when I asked her to move!Silly kitty...

love cows
I wanted to make a Valentine treat for the coworkers. 'Cause I'm sweet like that. I figured I could make some heart cookies...cause what says "Happy Valentine's Day" better than a cookie with red sprinkles???I rooted around for my heart cookie cutter. I couldn't find it. Nestled among the Christmas shapes, the graduated gingerbread set, and the rubber duck, I found the cow. "How perfect!" I thought. I'll make festive Valentine Love Cows! (after all, we are in the College of Agriculture and Life sciences...)I roll and cut out my cookies. I add red sprinkle spots. I was so pleased with myself. What could be better than Love Cows?!?After 9 minutes the oven goes off. I skip into the kitchen and open the oven door to find:BLOBS. Festive Valentine Love Blobs. Oh well. They're still delicious!

itch
I know, I know. It's time for a new post. I don't have anything NEARLY as cool as a wolf mural this time. Here's one of the shots I took of Fred & Shirley's house in the snow a few weeks ago. That's right...the 75 degree weather is making me wish for snow. I think I just like a good reason to stay in and sit by the fire. I'm starting to get a traveling itch. Rachael and I talked about taking a trip for about half an hour the other day, and now I want to go somewhere. Preferably somewhere that requires a plane ticket and a passport. Due to lack of funds, I might settle for DC. We'll see.

mural
So here's a look at what I've been doing for the last two nights. I borrowed an overhead projector and traced out my favorite Wolfpack logo over the wet bar in the theater room...Then started painting. It was very simple, and only took about four hours. I started with the white:Added the red:And finished up with the black:I also overestimated the amount of paint that I needed. Let's just say that I have enough to do the entire Struttin' Wolf, the block S logo, and perhaps a mural of Pepe le Pew chasing Penelope down the long wall (I got the giant bottles of black and white). OK. It's midnight and my hand is crampy. I'm headed to bed. Y'all come on over and check it out...

On Sunday afternoon I rode down to the armory with Shirley and Rachael. We packed 80 little containers with candy and valentine cards made by the kids at the church up the road for Lt. John and his crew. There were lots of people there to help...so it only took about 10 minutes to get all the boxes finished. This left ample time for the ladies to have a meeting about future meetings. And something about a banner. I tuned out at that point...so I'm not really sure what that was about. Everyone pray for Lt. John and his crew. They're having a rough and frustrating time.We only got a dusting of snow last night. It was enough to cover everything...except the roads. I was really hoping for a two hour delay this morning. No such luck. I guess I shouldn't have stayed up so late last night...
