Roomies
What a fun week! I got to live with two of my favorite people in all the world. We didn't get to spend as much time fighting crime as I would have liked, since Supergirl was busy studying for Equine Management & Biochem tests and Wonder Woman was engrossed in shark books. It's still been lots of fun!
Oh...and don't worry girls...I don't think I said enough to reveal anyone's secret identity...
The Head Rub
Every family has their strange quirks. Ours happens to be the head rub. Every day, Daddy comes in for lunch. Mama has it on the table, and they eat in time for Daddy to see the weather report on the noon news. Then they turn the TV off, and Mama rubs his head while he listens to Rush Limbaugh and naps before he has to go back out at 1:00.
John has also always liked to have Mama (or just about any willing person) rub his head. Sometimes he's a bit demanding about it. Then there's Max...who HAS to have his head rubbed if he's in the house. So when I was over there last week and this little scene unfolded, I had to take this picture. Just a snapshot of life in the Burt house.
Don't laugh...it's sweet.
Guest blog #1
Dear friends,
You may have noticed that my blog has been M.I.A. for the past week or so. The only logical explanation for this it that blogger.com has decided that my witty postings are too great for such a service as theirs, in which case they have temporarily removed my blog until I agree to dumb down my postings and allow them to publish my articles in "Genius Weekly".
I apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause those of you that look to me as a hero, but I will do everything in my power to beat the system.
In the mean time, please accept this picture of a bunny as my sincere apology.
With much humility,
Hannah
Guest Post
Since Hannah's blog died, I'm making some extra cash by allowing her to rent mine.
Enjoy.
nutella
I'm having this silly craving for Nutella right now. It's the most delicious chocolate-hazelnut spread ever created. Nutella is great because it enables you to justify eating chocolate for breakfast. Thanks to Joy for bringing the french bread to put it on. I'm a little embarrassed to say that Hannah and I ate the whole thing last night. We put garlic butter on half and ate it with our supper, then slathered the rest with Nutella and finished it up for dessert. (it would have been a real shame to let that good bread get stale...)
ANYWAY...I think that this is the reason why the squirrel was trying so hard to get into our kitchen. I don't blame him. If my head was small enough, I'd stick it down in the jar, too.
The REAL Squirrel Slayer
What a good dog. No more squirrel in the attic. He doesn't look a bit like a puppy that would sooner chew your face off than look at you. Isn't he cute?
broken
Hannah:
Your blog is broken and I want to see the cute puppy again.

not real busy today...
BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH!
Breaking News!
San Diego Chargers starting quarterback Drew Brees has just announced that he has signed with the New Orleans Saints. This opens up the starting job for you-know-who!
It's about time!
according to me
Contrary to popular belief, this is not how I arrive at all of my principles...just a few of them. The white shoe principle, however, is iron-clad. It is an enduring piece of Southern culture...and I want to see that culture respected until Easter.
persistance of memory
You know when you have wierd dreams and they just mess you up all day? I had one of those last night and I can't get the dream out of my head. I guess the things you think about and talk about before bedtime really can effect what you dream about. I kept waking myself up and saying "it's not real...go back to sleep." But I kept having the dream over and over again. And it was a strange dream, too. It was one of those where it's kinda funny, but I just can't give you a synopsis here because it involves some of my favorite people in the world and it's really wierd...so I'd better just stop typing to protect the innocent. It also wouldn't hurt to lay off whatever it is that is making Hannah have strange dreams. We need to find out what that is ASAP.
On a lighter note, my wierd dreams made me think of this painting, "La Persistencia de la Memoria," by Salvador Dali. He's a Spanish artist and the subject of my term paper for the Civilization of Spain class I took freshman year at Meredith. Just another one of those random memories that come up from time to time.
OK...I'm really done with this post now...
Everybody PRAY!
Please pray for my friend Heather. Her dad was in a pretty bad plane crash earlier this week (he's a pilot, and they were in a small plane). He's in the ICU right now. She lost her mother a year ago, and she's an only child, and I know she's got a lot on her right now. Pray that her dad will recover, and that she'll have peace and be able to rest.
Heather's a great friend. She moved to California earlier this year...and I miss her a lot. She is truly one of my favorite people in all of the world.
look what Max found...
Hannah's unmade bed!
I miss football...
Nothing too interesting to say today...except that I am longing to see some Wolfpack football again. NASCAR and golf just aren't gonna cut it.
I can't wait until training camp opens in August...
Once Upon a Time...
...there were four princesses. They partied all night long. Then they all ate Taco Bell and lived happily ever after.
The End.
New Sheets
I got new sheets for my birthday. Aren't they beautiful?!? It's all I can do to wait until the weekend to put them on. That being said, I will be changing my sheets (per my usual routine) on Saturday night. Since there has been some interest, anyone wishing to come wallow around on my sheets may come and do so between 4:00 and 5:00 on Saturday. Apparently it's lots of fun (just ask Joy...).This is a once in a lifetime opportunity...and if you try to do it at any other time, you will be shot on site.
