drained

Calling all who didn't grow up in a third world country and have malaria every other week!

The Blood Mobile will be at Piney Grove this Saturday morning. I'm planning to eat a very large breakfast (so I won't pass out again) and then give blood. They give you a free snack and everything.

Y'all call me if you're feeling heroic and want to save someone's life...

Sorry, Elizabeth. I know you have to weigh a certain amount in order to give blood. I am, of course, WAY over that weight limit but still can't give blood due to the whole 3rd world country and malaria thingie. But you guys enjoy yourselves:)

Joy - I'm going around 10:30...so come on over! (just remember that once you give it, you can't suck it back out of the bag...)

I'm also well over the weight limit (ahem), but won't be joining you due to the whole malaria thing. Apparently, if I even try to give blood, it's a felony (some law they passed a while back when AIDS patients were knowingly giving blood for money). Oh, well - I guess it's too bad that I won't be able to enjoy someone poking me with a needle to extract fluids. Bummer.

**UPDATE**

They got about 8 tablespoons of blood out, then I came dangerously close to passing out. Long story short, I have to go give platelettes now, instead of whole blood. *SIGH*

Awww Carroll! Was Max with you to save you this time? A friend of mine at school had a really bad case of leukemia, and she had a dog that went with her all the time because he could sense if she was about to pass out, and he would guide her to a chair before she did.
