Beantown

I had a great time visiting Alla and Steve in Boston. The trip got off to an exciting start when Steve picked me up from the airport en route to cover a fire in town. Since it was a slow news night, the station sent a reporter over and they led the broadcast with a live shot. I had no idea how much work goes into 45 seconds of television. Here's Steve getting some shots of the fire...

We spent Thursday touring Cape Cod (which only has ONE Taco Bell), watching guys harvesting cranberries, and eating the best clam chowder ever made. Completely worth $5.75 a cup. Then we drove on up the coast to the Nauset Light. The "professional photographer" took the lighthouse pic...but I took the cranberry bog pic and thought it turned out pretty good!

We spent Friday morning in Plymouth, where we saw Plymouth Rock, the Mayflower, and lots of neat old buildings.

Finally, we headed into Boston, where Steve drove us around with the precision and zeal of a cab driver. We saw Fenway Park, Harvard, Boston Common, the "Cheers" bar entrance, swung by the North End for Italian food, gelato, and cannolis, and saw the Old North Church and the USS Constitution. I had a wicked awesome time with my wicked cool cousins in a wicked fun city.
