no snow

Mrs. Jenny - this picture's for you. I saw this over a hotel doorway when we were in Chicago and it made me think of you...I just kept forgetting to let you see it.
In other news, there's no snow. I'm thankful for the rain. Really....I am. It's just that when you had your heart set on snow, rain is a bit disappointing. There is nothing better than sleeping in, watching a movie in front of the fire, and making a pot of soup for supper. I still slept in this morning - at least, I slept in until Oozey and Frank started throwing themselves into my door and meowing.
Maybe we'll get some sooner or later...

girls' night
Thanks to Katie, Martha, Meredith, and Rachael for coming to play with us last night. I had fun watching y'all scrapbook. Really. I did. The burned popcorn smell is finally out of the theater room. I also tried what we talked about last night. And for the record...I didn't enjoy it at all. I woke up every hour or so. Oh well. Now I can say I've tried it once. At least the house didn't catch fire.Newsies was great. It's funny how no matter how many times you watch it, it never gets old. Here's something fun I found this morning. Let me know which one you are:

recap
Wow. It's been 15 days since I updated this thing. I'm a little embarrassed. We just had a busy Christmas. Yeah...that's it...
Mama's whole family came Christmas Day. Well...everyone except my aunt Kay and her family. Kay got a new kidney for Christmas. What an awesome gift! We're going to go see her sometime soon. I promised to bring her her very own pan of dressing. Mmmm...dressing...
Rachael and Jimmy came over for supper on Christmas. Jimmy wanted to meet Aunt Martha. John made Rachael her own pocket-sized family tree so she could figure out who she was talking to.I came down with Hannah's cold on Christmas Eve. I felt like crap for 3 days. I hope none of my family got it. I felt better by Saturday, so Hannah and I took in a double feature. National Treasure was great. I am Legend was not. If someone tells you that they've cured cancer, DON'T TAKE THE VACCINE. It will turn you into a zombie and your dog will die.
Hannah, Lydia, Martha, and I went out for a Christmas last hurrah on Sunday night. We saw White Christmas...and it was great. Don't tell my mama that I wore that shirt. It was a lot different than the movie...but still very good. That might be the closest we get to snow this year. Our group went to Carrabba's for New Year's Eve. I went home before midnight. I'm old and I was tired. We spent yesterday taking the Christmas decorations down and rearranging the furniture. Our final broken ornament tally was 32. It was nice to get up this morning and not have to sweep up broken glass! So in conclusion...HAPPY NEW YEAR! I made a few resolutions...but if I post them here...you'll know if I don't keep them...Labels: family, friends, holiday
