late night snack
Last night John came over to watch Hell's Kitchen with us. It went off at 10:00...and somehow, the conversation turned to pancakes. The next thing I knew, Hannah and John both wanted pancakes. I felt bad for Hannah since she'd been babysitting all night and missed supper, and I kinda owe John since he's been helping me truck loads of stuff across the road. So I made them some. At 10:00 at night.
Now it smells like pancakes and syrup in the house. I hate the smell of pancakes and syrup...

mmmm....pancakes.....I love my roomate. Spider pig, spider pig.
You hate the smell of pancakes and syrup? That's almost up there with hating the smell of apple pie. Are you some kind of Commie-pinko or something?
P.S. I am more of a waffle man myself but pancakes will do in a pinch (but nothing beats, I hate to say it, FRENCH toast).
Watch out Rich!! There is nothing Carroll hates worse than the French. She won't even buy things with French writing on them.
Not ALL French people...just the ungrateful Parisians. Cheese-eating surrender-monkeys...
And I like waffles...warm with a scoop of chocolate ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream. Can I get an 'Amen'?!?
don't say the word "dollop"
what do you want me to say? "whipped cream on top"?
you could use topped, dab, or spoonful for dollop...
french toast and pancakes are terrible to smell after the fact, kinda like fish...
waffles are good with whipped butter in the squares...
but the gesture of serving H and J at 10P was a grand one carroll!
Don't burn my pancake.
Rich doesn't even like pancakes.
A dollop, a dollop, a dollop of daisy! (That's Hannah's favorite commercial)
I DIDN'T BURN YOUR PANCAKE!
Be nice or that's the last batch of pancakes I make you!
Pancakes are yucky - the only ones I enjoy are crepes (sometimes called swedish pancakes). Belgian waffles are the best with cold syrup in every square. . . now I'm really hungry. Philip - go cook me some waffles!! (Somehow I don't think he'll get the hint. :P)
Hey Angela...make a crepe and then spread some Nutella in there.
Mmmmm...
I will never understand the love affair with Nutella. I tried it once and BLAH!
you know where they eat a lot of crapes, dont you Carroll... FRANCE
You tell her Katie!! She'll eat Nutella all day long and I'm pretty sure that's French.
Suprisingly, I am not a big fan of nutella - too much like chocolate for me (I'm not a big chocolate fan). But my kids have peanut butter and nutella sandwiches for lunch nearly every day and LOVE it!! And, of course, Philip loves it. When I make them at home, I usually put sugar all over it, roll it up and sprinkle more sugar on the top (talk about your sugar rush first thing in the morning!). Yummy!! :P
