christmas in july

I had a whole carload of Christmas decorations. That's WITH the back seat laid down. Where does all this stuff come from? OK OK...a good chunk of it was Snow Village...but STILL! I had to make seven trips up the stairs to get it all in. I decided to put it in the closet off the theater room. I hesitate to put it in a non-climate-controlled environment until I know for sure what's in every box. I can't remember right now. So that's one more area that's moved. I wish they'd get the closet rods hung so we can start moving clothes.

Is it time to go to the beach yet???

The first instant I glanced at this picture I thought it was a 'packing for the beach' post. And I had two thoughts... "Isn't it a little early to load the car?" and... "Is that a Christmas wreath? I know Carroll loves her Christmas stuff... but why does she need it at the beach?"

Wow, you are really getting moved! Just the thought of EVER leaving this house and having to pack up and move everything makes me naseous. I think we'll stay here forever...
BTW, all of the posts on your last blog made me hungry for Nutella and Crepes. Once you move, let's have a crepe party!

Mmmm....crepe party....

Come on over. You can be the first "guest chef" in the new kitchen! (and I need you to to give me a crash course in a smooth glass cooktop.)

it would be my pleasure! I LOVE to cook and bake (especially when I don't have four little ones underfoot)- so set a date and I'm there!

Lydia - I can't even remember what it's like to cook or bake without kids under my feet (they HAVE to follow me upstairs where there are very few toys while I cook dinner instead of staying downstairs with Philip). Crepe party sounds yummy. :P

Reading all these posts about crepes, I felt compelled to write in to say that crepes (blini in Russian) are practically the national dish here. They usually eat them with non-sweet stuff like meat or caviar or sweet with sour cream, jam, and sugar. We really like them with caramel inside, and that's become one of our favorite desserts.

If you have a crepe party, be sure to buy a small thingy of caviar so you can try it (though I would doubt most of you will care for it).
