Infamy

"Yesterday, Dec. 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan...

...As commander in chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense...Always will we remember the character of the onslaught against us...

...No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory...

...With confidence in our armed forces - with the unbounding determination of our people - we will gain the inevitable triumph - so help us God."

- President Franklin D. Roosevelt

“Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack.... These acts.. were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed; our country is strong…. America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining…. None of us will ever forget this day. Yet, we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world.” President George W. Bush - September 11, 2001

I hope this nation never fails in its courage and conviction to do what is right!

God certainly has blessed our nation in spite of calamity... I pray also that we turn to God as a nation and do that which is right!
