Know Where Your Clothes Are?

This whole Duke lacrosse team rape story is getting on my nerves. Of course, if someone was raped, then the offenders need to be caught and punished accordingly. My problem with the situation is twofold:

1 - To the media and everyone else trying to get on TV: STOP MAKING THIS ABOUT RACE. I'm sick of hearing about the white, male, Ivy-leaguers (they're actually using that terminology) beating up on a poor, disadvantaged student from a historically black college that, through no fault of her own, was reduced to stripping to pay her bills. That brings me to my second point...

2 - It is never the girl's fault when she gets raped. HOWEVER, there are some specific actions one can take to significantly decrease the chances of being raped. First and foremost...KEEP YOUR CLOTHES ON! (And yes, it's probably not a good idea to be in a room full of hormonally charged, drunken college students.) Let's not forget, this girl was a stripper. She was being paid to dance around naked. No good is going to come from that.

In conclusion, boys - be respectable and treat women the way you would want your mother or sister treated. Girls - KEEP YOUR BRITCHES ON.

Is Carroll preaching? ;) I couldn't agree more!

If Carroll is preaching she better find herself a pulpit and some biblical references (not to mention a Methodist church where they allow such heresy ;-)

Hannah, where did you hear that the alleged victim was "single" and "attractive"? I think most would simply insist that the formula female + naked + beer/keg + males = poor career choice.
